KIWO Quick Check

The KIWO Quick Check is a screen production film tool designed for checking the consistency of stencil exposure. An exposure test will tell you the optimum exposure for a particular combination of mesh, emulsion, coating thickness and exposure parameters. But, an exposure test isn't recommended for production screens because the test screen requires massive overexposure to get accurate test results. When exposed and processed on every screen along with your production film positives, the KIWO Quick Check provides you with a reading that you can compare to a standard test screen. Here is how it works:

1. Determine the optimum exposure time, using a stepped test method or with the KIWO Exposure/ Resolution Calculator or KIWO Exposure Step Wedge.

2. Make another screen with the KIWO Quick Check, using the same mesh, emulsion, coating technique, and the optimum exposure time. Process the screen and note the step number that has been fully cured, showing no signs of emulsion deterioration.

3. Monitor subsequent production screens against your standard test screen. Simply tape a KIWO Quick Check to every screen you expose, and check the results against your standard test screen. The results indicate whether or not a variable (such as emulsion type, coating thickness, decay of the lamp, differences in development, or changes in fabric selection) in the process is affecting the exposure of your stencils.
