Pregasol EP33

1. Description

PREGASOL EP 33 STANDARD is a concentrated emulsion reclaimer powder for decoating of polymer-based direct emulsions and capillary films such as Diazo- and and SBQ-sensitized emulsions. PREGASOL EP 33 STANDARD does not crystalize when drying and is suitable for use in automatic reclaiming equipment.

PREGASOL EP 33 STANDARD has been formulated to be used in a 1-3 percent aqueous solution. A 1% solution is sufficient for solvent resistent emulsions. For ver water resistant emulsions a 3% solution is recommended.

2.1. Mixing

Dissolve 100gr PREGASOL EP 33 in:
1 gallon of water for a 3% solution
2 gallon of water for a 2% solution
3 gallon of water for a 1% solution

Dissolve 1.5 Kg PRESOL EP 33 in:

15 gallons of water to make a 3% solution
30 gallons of water to make a 2% solution
45 gallons of water to make a 1% solution

Apply and distribute the PREGASOL EP 33 STANDARD solution with a brush evenly on both sides of the screen, which has been carefully cleaned of ink residue. Rub the screen gently with a brush to dissolve the emulsion.

After approximately 2 minutes, rinse thoroughly with a strong water spray. A high pressure water spary (1000 - 2000 psi, 40 - 60bar) may be required for highly water resistant emulsions. Prolonged reaction time may result in reverse effects and does not help in the decoating process. Rather rinse the screen and reapply fresh decoating solution.

Ensure that the PREGASOL EP 33 STANDARD solution does not dry on the screen, as this can lead to a hardening of the emulsion and residues are extremely difficult to remove.

For automatic equipment a dwell time of 60 -120 seconds after applying the decoating solution is sufficient. If not all emulsion is removed, a second reclaiming cycle should be used to completely remove the emulsion.

PREGSOL EP 33 solution can be eliminated through biological decomposition in adapted waste water treatment plants. The working solution can generally be emptied into the drains. Consult local authorities for local regulations.
